In 1885, Baron Carl Auer von Welsbach discovered Neodymium, the strongest permanent magnets known. A short time later, in the late1990's, AFX became the first HO brand to develop a full production slot car that used Neodymium magnets for ground effects.
To make use of this amazing magnet our engineers designed an evolution of the AFX Racing Turbo chassis and presto change-o, the Super Racing Turbo or "SRT" was born.
The SRT Chassis performs like no other. It is super fast and durable and is easy to maintain and tune up. In particular the SRT is very fast on small, tight tracks where it has been known to beat the Super G+. Here are some of the reasons why:

Was very happy with GoNirto. I put my order in on a Sunday and got it by Wednesday. Got everything I order and it was shipped to take some shipping abuse so nothing was damaged.
After 20 or so years away from slot car, I decided I wanted to get back into slot car and relive my childhood. I still have my old Tyco sets but I am limited in what I could do and there don't seem to be much. I decided to switch to AFX. I bought a few car and found I actually like the AFX SRT better than the newer Mega G or G+'s. So I have been buying up what little I can find in a 80-90's style Indy/F1 car style. These were always my favorite with my Tyco track. It is too bad that these are made any more and there is not a lot of selection. The hobby is not what it once was when I didn't have much money and there were lots of cars.
The Indy/F1 are not the best choice for young kids. I still have my first one where I broke off half the front wing when I was a preteen.
